Horizon Honor Choir selected to perform at MMEA state conference
February 20, 2018
The Horizon Middle School Honor Choir, under the direction of Ashley Scherbenske, will perform at 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 23 at the Minnesota Music Educators Association’s state conference in Minneapolis. Each year the conference showcases top-quality programs and musical ensembles from throughout Minnesota.
Band, choir and orchestra ensembles from across Minnesota apply each year to perform at this event. Typically one choir from each grade level (elementary, middle school, high school, and collegiate/community) is selected to present a concert during the conference. The Horizon Honor Choir submitted recordings last spring and was selected this past summer.
“We are so honored to be selected to perform at the MMEA conference this year,” Scherbenske said. “The students have been working hard and are very deserving of this honor. I’m so proud of them!”
